hmm, i
gave some little interviews recently, and there were some questions
more or less all the interviewers asked... i collected them and
here we go if you are interested :
when and
how did you start your project ? look at the bandinfo,
there is not much more to tell about ...
what does
f/a/v mean ? f/a/v is short for fucking and vomiting. the name
is inspired by the drama "fucking and shopping" by sarah
kane and some japanese ... err... website. these days i think
it's quite a funny idea to give the acronym a new meaning on every
release, like "feinde auf valium" ("enemies on
valium"). next will be "freude am verzweifeln"
("joy at despair") i think.
are you
gonna perform live in the nearer future ? aah, difficult question.
i'd like to, i love playing live. but the way i produce my tracks
makes it hardly possible to reproduce them live. so i only could
have playback running and singing and shouting along. i did this
several times, but it's not very interesting for the listeners
i guess. another possibility would be having guest musicians on
stage. maybe i'll do this some time, but i don't really like the
idea, because f/a/v is a solo project and thus garthering guest
musicians around me would be inconsequent in a way... hmm, i don't
know whether and when i will find a solution for this little dilemma
...
your second
album is much harsher / cleaner / punkier / less punkier / whatever
than your first one. why ?
i just changed my production methods a bit, and my taste in music
also changed in the last two years, and this influenced my sound
in a way. i didn't think about how the whole album would sound,
i concentrate on each single track. it's not a concept album,
just a collection of songs.
how do
you produce your tracks ? there is no standard-procedure. i
only work on a track when i am in the right mood and when i have
plenty of time. sometimes i start over with a beat, sometimes
i program a strings-like sound first, sometimes there is a slogan,
sample or part of the lyrics first. one thing most of my tracks
have in common is the way i record my voice: very spontaneous
and fast, i usually use the first takes.
what's
next ? i don't know. i am working on new tracks, and some time
a new album will be ready. then i'll think about where and how
to release it. maybe i'll do some remixing and/or compilation
contributions in the meatime.
and here's
some questions i've never been asked but if i'd interview myself,
i'd ask them :
are you
a left extremist ? no. actually i am member of the social democrat
party. sometimes i also vote for the green party.
do you
use drugs ? enormous amounts of coffee and cigarettes, alcohol
one or two times a week. no medicaments, no illegal drugs. now.
